Haryana’s chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Thursday underlined the state government’s commitment to curbing the menace and rehabilitating addicts, calling drug consumption in ten districts a serious concern.
In March, the Haryana government began a multi-pronged campaign to disrupt the supply chain and rehabilitate addicts. “It’s a source of concern, but we’re determined to keep it under control.” Just looking at the data on drug seizures makes me nervous, Khattar stated, surrounded by home minister Anil Vij, assistant chief secretary (ACS-home) Rajeev Arora, Director-General of Police (DGP) PK Agarwal, and additional director general of police (CID) Alok Mittal.
The CM said 10-member teams will be constituted in every village and ward with local representatives and officers. “Drug de-addiction centres will also be set up,” he said.
