While addressing a rally in Sarai Tarin in Uttar Pradesh, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi attacked BJP by condemning the ongoing Hijab Row in Karnataka.
Owaisi in his speech said, “I pray that our sisters fighting for their right to wear hijab are successful in their fight. Grave violations of the constitution’s articles 15, 19 and 21 are being committed in Karnataka. I condemn this decision of Karnataka’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.”
The whole controversy around Hibaj row began last month when a government college in Karnataka denied entry to a few Hijab-wearing students, into the college citing the government’s order to follow the uniform guidelines.
On this matter, the State primary and secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh, said, “Whole situation was under control till Feb 1. Only when some political parties instigated it there was a reaction from the other section of society also. We appeal to students not to take the law into their hands.”
The Karnataka high court will continue the hearing on the Hijab row today.
