On Tuesday BJP released its election manifesto for upcoming Goa polls. Heavily criticised by the middle class on high fuel prices across the states, BJP in Goa has promised to not hike any state duties on petrol and diesel for the next three years and promises to cap petrol at Rs 80 per litre.
BJP in their manifesto has also promised to give three free LPG cylinders a year to every household in Goa, and increase pension under the Dayanand Samajik Suraksha Yojana (DSSY) to Rs. 3,000.
Apart from this, BJP also promised to boost up the infrastructural programme in the state under the Manohar Parrikar Kalyan fund, which will provide for a common development fund up to Rs 3 crore for every panchayat and up to Rs 5 crore for every municipality. The party will also ensure the restoration of mining in the state.
They will also focus on doubling the number of annual tourist arrivals in the state in the next five years.
However, Aam Aadmi Party leader Amit Palekar called the BJP’s manifesto a “scam.” He said, “To fulfil ten promises made ten years ago, the BJP is asking people to vote for it for another five years.” (Reported by Indian Express)
