Amid of Karnataka Hijab row Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai appealed to the outsiders to not instigate violence in school premises. He urged the students to maintain peace and focus on education.
In a public statement, he said, “I appeal to outsiders to not disturb peace and tranquillity in school campuses and in the state. It is our duty to create a peaceful atmosphere so that justice can be delivered.”
The case is subjudice in Karnataka high court on which the next hearing will be conducted on Monday. Therefore, Karnataka CM has decided to reopen the schools. “Last three days went very peacefully,” said CM. That’s why they have decided to open schools with caution.
Informing the media CM said, “in the second stage, we will decide about reopening classes 11th-12th and other degree colleges as per the situation.”
However, degree colleges and PU government college (the epicentre of the hijab row) will remain closed, till further notice.
Earlier, Sr advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the Hijab row in Supreme Court, after which the Chief Justice, asked him to wait as the Karnataka high court is still deciding on that matter.
Hijab row has become a matter of national importance, Telangana CM’s daughter wrote a poem on this and shared it on her social media.
In the poem, she mentioned, “Let us keep politics out of schools and colleges. I am a married woman, I put vermilion whenever I want. It’s a choice. As a society, we have no right to interfere in their personal choice.”
Meanwhile, Karnataka high court will resume hearing on the case on Monday.
