Ukraine crisis- 2nd round of talks to begin soon

In the shadow of Putin’s statement that any attempts by Kyiv to delay negotiations would result in Moscow adding more items to its list of demands, a Ukrainian delegation said Thursday it was en route for a second round of ceasefire talks with Russia.

“On our way to negotiations with the Russian Federation. Already in helicopters,” presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak said on Twitter.

Podolyak posted a photo of himself with lawmaker David Arakhamia dressed in military uniform in what appears to be a helicopter cabin.

The Ukrainians are expected to arrive for the talks in the Brest region of Belarus. From the Russian side, Vladimir Medinsky, an aide of Russian President Vladimir Putin will head the delegation

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday that his country was ready for talks to resume. However, he noted that Russia’s demands had not changed. He also said that he would not accept any ultimatums, according to the report.

According to Russia’s delegation its proposals have to do with “military-technical, humanitarian-international and political matters”.
