Early morning today, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel welcomed 100 Indian students who were stranded in war torn Ukraine.
Two special buses were arranged from Mumbai and Delhi to Gujarat for these students. The students arrived in India after being evacuated by a special flight from Bucharest to Romania.
Local politicians and parents attended to these students at Gandhinagar. Weeping parents hugged their children as they made a safe return from the war zone.
In an interview with Indian Express, a student Puja Patel, said, “We were trying to come back to India after the talks of war between Russia and Ukraine started. Our parents were quite worried. We were provided support from the Indian Embassy, but a lot of our friends are still living there in an environment of fear. I will truly be happy when all of them are brought back safely.”
Today Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot also urged the Prime Minister to ensure the safe return of the Indian students from Ukraine.
