On Wednesday, the police said that they arrested five people including a 28 year old gang leader and his live-in partner. The police have linked five murders since September 21, to the prime suspect, Vishal Yogi.
Police in the course of several months recovered bodies of three cab drivers and one bike rider all killed with a single shot in the head from point blank range, left at desolate roadsides. In all cases the bullet was fired by Vishal.
The police said that they joined the dots after the arrest of Vishal Yogi, in Jaipur on Tuesday while probing the murder of a cab driver Arjun on February 19. The body was found at the bottom of a pit off SPR at Badshahpur in Gurgaon.
The gang’s modus operandi was simple. They operated in the Gurgaon-Jaipur highway, where they booked cabs for trips and sold them after killing the driver. They sold the vehicle to scrap dealers after the murders.
The police are hoping to solve more cases with the arrest of the prime suspect.
