Bollywood actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar is now facing a case against him under POSCO act for allegedly portraying minors in obscene sequences in his latest Marathi film Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha.
The case has been registered under IPC Section 292, 34, POCSO Section 14 and IT Section 67, 67B. The POCSO (A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court has ordered a probe into it. The case is being previewed under ‘Use of Child for pornographic purposes’ as the actors who enacted the obscene sequence are also minors.
According to the complainant Seema Deshpande, president of Bharatiya Stree Shakti, an NGO which works for women’s empowerment the film depicts sexual activities between minors and their aunt and has violence involving children. Deshpande alleged that the dialogues in the film are vulgar.
The story of Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha revolves around two teenage boys who grow up facing deprivation and brutality by society and become hardcore criminals. The story is based on a story by the late Jayant Pawar. The film stars some of the well known Marathi actors including Prem Dharmadhikari, Chhaya Kadam, Shashank Shende and Kashmera Shah.
