Punjab election 2022 live: Polling ends in Punjab, 68% voters turnout.

Over 68% voters’ turnout recorded in-state; Congress will form govt with two-third majority, says Channi. In comparison to 2017, 2012, and 2007, when the voting rate was over 70%, there has been a significant drop in the voting percentage in the Ludhiana district.

Punjab is witnessing a multi-corner contest this time with Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Shiromani Akali Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, and the coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party-former chief minister Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress party as key players.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Parkash Singh Badal, and Harsimrat Kaur, all members of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), voted in the single-phase Punjab Assembly elections on Sunday in Muktsar. Earlier in the day, Badal predicted that the SAD-BSP coalition would sweep the state and win over 80 seats in the elections, while Kaur stated that the people of Punjab want a stable, powerful administration.
