During an Instagram live session on Friday, AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria said that India’s vaccine drive helped in lower severity during 3rd wave in the country.
In the session organised by the Minister of family and welfare, Dr Guleria said, “if India is witnessing low severity of the third surge today, then extensive vaccination is one of the main reasons behind it.”
While praising the efforts of the country in controlling the third wave he said, “India’s vaccination drive has been a role model for the global community. Right from research, production and distribution to successful administration, India has led the way.”
“Every Indian is a COVID19 warrior. It is the Jan Bhagidari coupled with visionary leadership and, community ownership that has led to the successful management of covid-19 in India,” he further added while praising every COVID worrier including vigilant citizens.
Up until now, a total number of 174cr COVID19 vaccine doses have been given in the country. Out of this 76.6cr people are fully vaccinated with two doses. 55.5% of the population in the country is vaccinated against the COVID19.
