Punjab chief Minister today clarified his “UP, Bihar ke bhaiye” comment by saying that his statement was misconstrued. He said that all migrants are welcome.
He also said, “I was talking about people who come from outside and create disruptions here. Punjab is as much of the people of UP-Bihar, Rajasthan and elsewhere, who come here & work, as much as it is ours. So, it is not right to present it in any other manner.”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while campaigning in Ludhiana also concurred and said that all that the CM was trying to say is that Punjab should be run by Punjabis and that his statement was misconstrued.
CM Channi had yesterday during a road show stated that he would not let UP & Bihar Bhaiye enter Punjab.
