Yash Dhull, India’s under-19 captain, has extended his fantasy run even further after leading the team to the ICC Under-19 World Cup victory recently. On Thursday, the right-hander began his Ranji Trophy career with a century for Delhi in the tournament’s first match.
Dhull hit 18 boundaries in his debut game against Tamil Nadu, scoring 113 runs off just 133 balls.
Yash Dhull was picked to open the innings for Delhi after Tamil Nadu won the toss and chose to bowl first. To achieve the three-figure milestone, he only needed 133 balls.
He came in as a rescuer for Delhi, putting on a crucial 60-run partnership with Nitish Rana for the third wicket. Dhull was on 97 when he was removed by M Mohammed, but the ball turned out to be a no-ball, giving the young Delhi batter a second chance, which he took with ease.
