The Supreme Court on Thursday set aside a Punjab and Haryana High Court order staying a Haryana government order on providing 75 per cent reservation for locals in private sector jobs.
The matter was taken up by the bench of justice Ajay Tewari and justice Pankaj Jain and it passed the stay order.
The top court asked the High Court to decide on the matter within four weeks, and also asked the state government to refrain from taking coercive steps against employers not following the law. A detailed judgment is awaited, said counsel Tushar Sharma.
