Paris St Germain defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at home thanks to a sensational individual strike by Kylian Mbappe in stoppage time.
The winner came after 94 minutes, when Mbappe, after a brilliant run between two defenders, calmly slid the ball into the far corner to give PSG a much-deserved victory after they had dominated the match.
PSG missed several chances and were frustrated by Real keeper Thibaut Courtois, who denied Mbappe several times before superbly stopping Messi’s penalty kick in the second half.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side will try to make amends in the second leg of the tie at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid which will take place on 10th March.
