India wins against West by six wickets on the backs of Suryakumar Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi
Even though the scorecard appears easy, India was made to sweat after the first five overs as the spinners pinned Ishan Kishan to the wicket as he failed to find boundaries, and inevitably allowed the required rate to shoot over 8.5.
The hosts went 27 balls without a boundary, and it took Suryakumar Yadav to get them back on track. In spite of the middle-order stutter, SKY and Venkatesh Iyer added 23 runs off 2 overs from Cottrell and Shepherd.
In the end, India will be unsatisfied with their approach against spin as they allowed 9 successive overs of spin through the middle overs, failing to find boundaries and gifting 2 wickets trying to slog their way out of trouble in the middle overs.
Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer bat through to chase down 158 with six wickets remaining to hand over a 1-0 lead to India in the T20 series.
