The Sensex & NSE snapped from their two-session losing streak and rose over 3 per cent on Tuesday led by a broad-based buying after reports of some Russian troop movement back to their base.
The Sensex surged 1,736.21 points (3.08 per cent) to settle at 58,142.05, while the Nifty 50 rose 509.65 points (3.03 per cent) to close at 17,352.45. Both the indices had a gap up opening.
All stocks on the BSE were trading in the green during the late afternoon rally. Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, Infosys, State Bank of India (SBI), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Kotak Mahindra Bank and Titan Company were the top gainers with over 3.5 per cent gains.
