49-year-old professional wrestling champion Dilip Singh Rana, popularly known as the ‘Great Khali’ joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on February 10th before the upcoming elections in Punjab.
Khali is popular for his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stint, where he participated and represented India. The show was hugely popular among the Indian youth in the early 2000s when Khali was the only Indian wrestler in the show. After this, he also performed in four Hollywood films and two Hollywood films, along with reality shows like Big boss.
Union Minister and senior BJP leader Jitendra Singh said, “With The Great Khali joining us, it will be a source of inspiration to youth as well as other people of the country.”
7-foot-1 and tall and 347 pounds heavy, Khali made his place in the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021 in the United States.
Punjab will go for voting on February 14th and results will be out on March 10th.
