KAWACH anti-collision technology announced in Budget 2022

KAWACH protection programme announced in the new budget aims to reduce collision between trains in India.

One of the many new schemes and initiatives announced in this budget. Among them is KAWACH technology.

The project is a statement that the KAWACH anti-collision technology will be used to defend India’s 2,000-kilometer railway network.

The Atmanirbhar Bharat mission will bring this technology to India in 2022-23.

KAWACH is a microprocessor with a radio communication interface and GPS technology.

The Railways have been allocated Rs 1.37 lakh crore in capital investment support in the budget, which will aid in the completion of railway projects.

India developed an anti-collision technology to prevent train accidents. In this way, the chances of an error will be reduced.

Technically, this technology is called the Train Collision Avoidance System or the Automatic Train Protection System.

In the event of a collision between two trains, this technology can access each other’s course and initiate automatic braking. The technology has received SIL4 certification. The system asses the location of trains through several tracking devices installed inside the trains and initiates a “braking system” in case of possible collisions between two trains. The main aim of KAWACHis to bring is to bring the number of train collisions to zero.
