The sky in Capital dazzled with 1000s of drones on the occasion of the Beating Retreat Ceremony. The first time ever hosted drone show was scheduled at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on Saturday was graced by President and Supreme Commander of the armed forces, Ram Nath Kovind along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh.
The ten-minute drone show commemorated 75 years of Indian independence under the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The show was choreographed by ‘Botlab Dynamics’ along with IIT Delhi and the Department of Science and Technology.
On the marching tunes of ‘Veer Sainik’, ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha,’ and ‘Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo,’ 1000s of indigenous drones formed various formations including- India’s map on the globe, the tricolour and the lion symbol of ‘Make in India.’
This ‘beating the retreat’ is a centuries-old military tradition dating from the days when troops disengaged from the battle at sunset. The capital witnessed its first-ever Beating Retreat ceremony with thousands of drones.
